American Express Stadium plays host to a Premier League match without much seemingly on the line. Of course, the Seagulls didn't win the League Cup. That trophy surprisingly and finally went to Newcastle United. And Fabian Hürzeler's men are not one of the clubs in the FA Cup semifinals. However, Brighton could still technically qualify for Europe for next season through a high EPL place. Though I see those UEFA Europa League and Europa Conference League spots going to superior sides such as Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City.
And, naturally, Leicester are almost definitely relegated at this point of the campaign. The Foxes cannot even muster consolation goals, or a solitary goal, in matches they lose. It really is pitiful at LCFC right now. Therefore neither team is actually, really in with a shout of realising their respective targets: Europe and safety. Nevertheless, the game may well still be a decent contest. Leicester have just received a technical boost in the form of an injured Seagull. While we never wish harm on players, City could do with any lift.
Hürzeler revealed that exciting winger Kaoru Mitoma is a doubt for the clash. The Japanese would surely have obliterated James Justin at right back. Ricardo Pereira is again the better option in my view. Jan Paul van Hecke misses out through suspension too. Meanwhile poorly performing centre back Wout Faes has 'picked up a small injury' says King Power gaffer Ruud van Nistelrooy. Elsewhere in the east Midlanders' squad, BHAFC loanee Facundo Buonanotte is unavailable to face his parent club.
Hermansen; Thomas, Coady, Okoli, Kristiansen, Justin; Ndidi, Soumare, Mavididi, El Khannouss; Vardy.
