Graham Potter returns to the south coast as Brighton host Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Since the 47-year-old swapped Sussex for Stamford Bridge, Brighton have failed to win a match under his replacement Roberto De Zerbi. Chelsea, by comparison, are unbeaten since Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel.

Brighton team news

Joel Veltman limped off against Manchester City last weekend but may have recovered from a muscular problem by the time Chelsea's team bus rocks up at the Amex. Adam Lallana also had his Saturday afternoon against the champions concluded prematurely after aggravating an issue sustained during the week.

Japan international Kaoru Mitoma is scheduled make his return from an ankle problem next month but Jakub Moder remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury.

Potter lined up with the same Brighton team for the season's opening three matches but has given his Chelsea pack a thorough shuffle since arriving. After securing top spot of their Champions League group with a win in Austria on Tuesday night, Potter warned that "we can rotate a little bit".

Mateo Kovacic flagged a calf problem during the midweek victory, leaving his availability this weekend in doubt. Kalidou Koulibaly didn't travel to Salzburg but is expected to return to training ahead of the trip to Brighton.

Wesley Fofana (knee), N'Golo Kante (thigh) and Reece James (knee) are all highly unlikely to feature for the Blues prior to the World Cup.

Brighton vs Chelsea score prediction

Even without the presence of their manager, Chelsea represent an almighty bogey team for the Seagulls. Brighton have never won a league game against the Blues in their entire history.

It would be particularly poignant for Brighton to break that streak against Potter, earning De Zerbi a maiden win the team's performances have warranted during his short spell. However, it would be even more fitting if the meeting between his past and present employers ends in a Graham Potter speciality, a 1-1 draw.
