Saturday’s comeback win at Nottingham Forest moved the Blues level on points with sixth-placed Newcastle in the Premier League, after the Magpies were held earlier in the day to a home draw with the Seagulls.
Victory on the south coast - which would be Chelsea’s fourth in a row - is likely the bare minimum to remain in the race.
Newcastle head to Manchester United on the same night, with both Europa League-chasing clubs looking to avoid dropping points.
Brighton, meanwhile, are trying to cling onto a top-half finish.
Brighton vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 7.45pm BST kick-off today, Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
The match will take place at the Amex Stadium.
