Manchester United are interested in signing Brighton defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo after missing out on Adrien Rabiot.

The Juventus midfielder could not come to an agreement over wages after the two clubs decided on a £15m transfer fee.

Erik ten Hag is desperate to bolster his midfield, and Sky Sports says Caicedo is a prime target.

However, the Seagulls have no intention of selling one of their star players, having already lost Marc Cucurella and Yves Bissouma this summer.

The Ecuadorian impressed enough during Brighton's recent 2-1 win at Old Trafford to convince ten Hag to make a move.

United have been long-term admirers of Caicedo, having missed out on him when he joined Brighton from Independiente del Valle in February 2021.

The Premier League giants are also looking at Real Madrid star Casemiro as a midfield option.
