Brighton and Tottenham locked horns at Broadfield Stadium this evening in a key meeting with top-five implications in the Women's Super League, with both sides coming away with a share of the spoils on offer.

Spurs came into tonight’s clash with a chance to close distance to the top-five in the Women’s Super League table as they sat six points adrift of the hosts, with the Seagulls looking to climb into third with a win before Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United all feature tomorrow.

In a first-half largely defined by one-way traffic, Brighton managed to dominate Spurs in all key aspects of play while keeping the visitors to just one shot by the halftime interval.

Despite that, the match lacked real spark in the opening 45 minutes of action in a historically evenly-contested matchup between the two clubs, though Brighton’s best chance came by way of a pair of headers from Kiko Seike and Nikita Parris four minutes from the break.

Brighton pushed to break the deadlock as the second half continued in a similar fashion, with the best chance of the match to that point falling to Parris once again, but Eleanor Heaps produced a top-class fingertip save to deny the long-range effort.

Tottenham was determined to get something on the night, and an improved performance in the second half bore fruit when they took the lead in the 75th minute through none other than club-leading scorer Beth England, who bagged her 8th of the season.

Spurs nearly bagged a second soon after through a backheeled attempt from Jess Naz, but the lead would not last long, with Brighton leveling matters thanks to Marisa Olislagers hitting a sweet effort on the half-volley just seven minutes later.

A medical emergency in the crowd temporarily delayed the final minutes of action, but the wealth of additional time served no benefit to either side despite frantic end-to-end play in the dying moments, and Brighton ultimately failed to jump on the chance to put additional pressure on the league's top sides.

Chelsea dropped points for the first time this season as Leicester City held them to a well-deserved point in the Women's Super League at the King Power Stadium.

Despite their excellent recent form, Chelsea began the game slowly and Leicester took full advantage. Midway through the first half, some slick passing found Missy Goodwin free on the right side of the penalty area, who in turn found the back of the net and handed Leicester a shock advantage.

Bompastor's side looked short on ideas in a bitty first half, and struggled to test Janina Leitzig in the Leicester City goal as the Foxes looked more than a match for the league leaders.

It was a similar story after the interval too, despite Bompastor introducing Niamh Charles and Catarina Macário for the second half. The Blues dominated the ball, but could not find a way past Leicester centre-backs Sophie Howard and Sari Kees, both of whom turned in immense performances for the midlands side.

But 13 minutes from time, the Champions finally found a way through the stubborn defence as Wieke Kaptein drove through the middle of the pitch before providing a pinpoint finish to level a game that seemed to be getting away from her side.

The Blues pushed for a winner as Leicester desperately tried to hold on for a well-deserved point, with Mayra Ramirez testing Leitzig with a stinging effort.

And though they ended the game with a massive 22 shots, Bompastor's side could not find a second goal as Sjoeke Nusken blazed one final glorious chance over the bar, meaning that they dropped points for the first time this season.
