Brighton & Hove Albion announced on Saturday that they will part ways with manager Roberto De Zerbi. According to Ignazio Genuardi, the Premier League side could replace De Zerbi with OGC Nice’s Francesco Farioli.
Farioli is expected to depart Nice at the end of the season. The Italian has refused to address his future publically, however, it had been expected that he would join Ajax at the end of the season. As per reports in Telegraaf, an agreement had even been reached between Farioli and the Eredivisie club, who were in negotiations with Le Gym in order to complete the deal.
However, despite negotiations being at an advanced stage, Brighton have now entered into the fray. The Seagulls are looking for a replacement for De Zerbi, whose end-of-season departure has been confirmed. Farioli has previously worked with De Zerbi during the pair’s time in Italy, whilst the former’s style is influenced by the latter. Brighton have already begun talks with the Nice manager, according to Genuardi.
