Brighton goalkeeper coach Ben Roberts is proud of Robert Sanchez over his Spain Euros call.

Roberts says it will be valuable experience for the 23-year-old, who only made his Premier League debut in October against Spurs.

Roberts told the club's website, “I was delighted. I had a tear in my eye, to be honest. I knew how much it meant to him and his family, how hard he worked to get there, coming abroad when you're 15 years old, not speaking the language and all the different challenges in front of him.

“He's also not happy now just to be in the squad. That's his thing. He said, 'I want to play, I need to play'.

“I reiterated the same thing to him, 'Just be respectful of the other goalkeepers that are there and train as well as you can'."
