Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly pursuing a surprise move for Leicester City star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before the end of the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has played a key role in helping the Foxes to the top of the Championship, bagging nine goals and nine assists in 27 league games.

His impressive displays in the English second tier haven’t gone unnoticed, with several Premier League clubs now keen on him.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Brighton are negotiating with Leicester over a permanent transfer for the talented midfielder.

The Midlands outfit are reportedly demanding an incredible £30 million to sanction a departure in January.

But that valuation is unlikely to be met by the Seagulls, who are keen to sign the Dewsbury-Hall but only at a price they deem acceptable.

Brentford are also eyeing a move for the player, but Brighton are leading the race.

Dewsbury-Hall, who has a contract at the King Power Stadium until 2027, is one of the finest talents to have emerged from the Foxes’ academy in recent years.

He has made 111 appearances in all competitions, tallying 14 goals and 14 assists.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have had an excellent 2023-24 campaign, collecting 32 points from 21 games to reach seventh in the Premier League table.

But the Italian boss wants to reinforce the squad to continue their impressive performances during the second half of the campaign.

They signed Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors earlier this month for around £8m, but they also want to add Dewsbury-Hall to their squad.
