Brighton & Hove Albion announce return to the Amex next month | OneFootball

Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed that next month’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Leicester City will be staged at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls opened the season at their traditional home when they defeated a 10-player West Ham United side 2-0 in front of a bumper crowd of 2,264. Inessa Kaagman and Lee Geum-min got the goals for Hope Powell’s side as they made a winning start to the new campaign.

Albion have won their last two games at the Amex Stadium and the club will hoping to attract another healthy crowd for their latest fixture at the venue. The Sussex club recorded their highest-ever Barclays FA Women’s Super League finish last season as they ended the campaign in sixth position while the club have already won three of their five games so far this term as they continue to produce an attractive, winning brand of football.

Speaking following today’s announcement, Albion boss Powell said “The players loved playing the West Ham game at the Amex. The crowd were brilliant and really got behind the team and for our younger players in particular, it was a fantastic experience to play in such a great stadium.

“We’re really pleased to be back at the Amex next month. We’ve got some important games before then but we’re looking forward to facing Leicester, hopefully in front of another really big crowd.”

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Leicester City at the Amex Stadium is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday 14 November and will kick-off at 2pm.
