Brighton goalkeeper David Sanchez was proud of his Premier League debut in defeat to Chelsea.
Six years after joining the club's Academy, the 22-year-old Spaniard impressed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday despite Albion's 2-1 defeat.
He told the club's website, “I was really happy because I've had quite a journey to get to this moment.
“Making my debut in the Premier League is what I have been working my whole life for. I just tried to do my best and thought we played well. I thought we were a bit unlucky [not to get a result]."
Sanchez was told by Graham Potter he was playing on Saturday but said he had no problem sleeping the night before the game nor did he feel any nerves.
“I never get too nervous, I just go into my zone and try and do my best. Despite losing there are always positives to take and hopefully I can now stay in the team."
