Brighton agree €19.5m deal to sign talented winger Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland | OneFootball

According to David Ornstein, Brighton have reached an agreement to sign Nordsjelland winger Ibrahim Osman for a fee of €19.5m.

The Ghanian winger was subject to bids from both Brighton and West Ham earlier this January, but a move to either side failed to go through before the end of the window. However, Brighton have now beaten The Hammers to a move, and Osman will now join the South Coast side this summer, having already completed a medical with the club.

A product of the prestigious Right to Dream academy in Ghana, alongside other graduates such as West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus, Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana, and current Brighton star Simon Adingra, Osman followed a well-trodden path to join the Danish club – who are owned by Right To Dream – in January 2023.

Since that point, the 19-year-old was slowly integrated into Nordsjelland’s side last season, but has significantly stood out in the Danish Superliga this campaign.

In 16 appearances, Osman has accumulated one goal and four assists, but mostly caught the eye with his electric speed and quick feet from the left-wing, as he’s completed more dribbles per 90 minutes than any player in the entire division – as per SofaScore.

These are similar traits to those of the aforementioned Adingra and therefore provide a good indication that Osman will be able to transition into The Seagulls’ side as effectively as the Ivoirian has done this season – where he’s contributed five goals and three assists in all competitions.

Furthermore, Osman’s 6 appearances in the Europa conference league this season may also aid him in his move to England this summer, should Brighton qualify for European competition for a second consecutive season.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are currently in the race to do so, as they sit eighth in the Premier League table and have a spot in the Europa league round of 16 – having finished top of a tough group including Marseille, Ajax, and AEK Athens.
