According to Benjamin Quarez, Lilian Brassier (24) will arrive in Marseille this afternoon. The Stade Brestois defender is set to complete his medical where he will then join Olympique de Marseille on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for €11 million.
It had already been reported that Brassier had agreed on a five-year deal with Marseille after he had rejected multiple other clubs, notably Bournemouth who had offered a far more lucrative contract, to secure the move to the south of France.
The centre-back will join smaël Koné in becoming the second signing of a new era at Les Phocéens under head coach Roberto De Zerbi. However, it is suspected that far more signings will soon be joining the team, as the club president Pablo Longoria and his sporting advisor Medhi Benatia look to drastically transform the side.
Brassier had earned Marseille’s interest after an impressive season with Brest. The defender helped earn the club a historic finish in the league and a place in next season’s Champions League.
