There has been a sense that Stade Brestois have saved their best for the Champions League this season. The club suffered their first-ever defeat in Europe when they lost 3-0 to Barcelona during the week, while losses have been far more frequent in Ligue 1 having picked up 7 in their first 12 games.
Eric Roy will hope to bring some of their European form to the Stade Francis-Le Blé (which has unfortunately not been able to witness any of their Champions League exploits) against RC Strasbourg this evening. There will likely be a few changes from their midweek tie with Abdoulaye Ndiaye replacing Julien Le Cardinal in the centre of defence.
Brest will likely swap from a 4-4-2 diamond shape to a more familiar 4-3-3 with the attacking midfielder Kamory Doumbia and striker Abdallah Sima being dropped in favour of the wingers Romain Del Castillo and Ibrahim Salah.
Marco Bizot; Massadio Haïdara, Abdoulaye Ndiaye, Brendan Chardonnet, Kenny Lala; Hugo Magnetti, Edimilson Fernandes, Mahdi Camara; Romain Del Castillo, Ludovic Ajorque, Ibrahim Salah.
