Eric Roy’s high-flying Brest side continue their push for Champions League football as they face a struggling Marseille at Stade Francis Le Blé to cap off the 22nd Matchday of Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

Stade Brestois are looking to continue their fairytale season in Ligue 1 Uber Eats as they host Gennaro Gattuso’s Marseille who come into the game off an eventful week in the Europa League.

Despite winning six straight games from December to January, Les Pirates are now without a single victory in their last four matches in all competitions after being held by Clermont last weekend (1-1). Eric Roy’s side are still holding on to the fourth Champions League qualifying spot in the table, and are also currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak.

Marseille will come into the game in the middle of UEFA Europa League knockout play-off tie against Shakhtar, which saw Les Olympiens held in dramatic fashion in Hamburg last Thursday (2-2). Gattuso’s men previously were ahead in Ligue 1 against Metz (1-1) at the Velodrome, but once again pegged back in what is becoming a concerning pattern this season for OM.

Reunion for Roy

Brest manager Eric Roy was relishing the test against his former team in his pre-match press conference. “We saw the Marseille match on Thursday night, of course. They're still a big club, a big team with resources far superior to ours,” said the former Marseille player. “We want to challenge them, just as we've tried to challenge all the teams we've played since the start of the league.”

Brest’s Marco Bizot will miss out after last week’s sending off against Clermont, meaning that 24-year-old keeper Gregoire Coudert is likely to make his first start in Ligue 1. Mahdi Camara will also miss out due to suspension but key defender Lilian Brassier should return to the side. Meanwhile for OM, Samuel Gigot will serve a one-match suspension, but Chancel Mbemba returns from AFCON along with a return for Ismaïla Sarr.

Brest - OM probable lineups:

Stade Brestois: Coudert; Lala, Brassier, Chardonnet, Locko; Lees-Melou, Martin, Magnetti; Del Castillo, Mounie, Pereira Lage
