Brentford are reconsidering their decision to make a significant investment in Antonio Nusa, who is also being targeted by Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, for the summer transfer window.
Antonio Nusa was on the verge of joining London club Brentford during the winter transfer window after a deal was struck with Club Brugge.
An agreement worth €37 million was in place between the two clubs, but Brentford encountered concerns about his knee during a medical examination.
The Premier League club decided to pause the transfer process to conduct a more thorough assessment of his medical condition. While it’s been suggested that the issue is not significant, with the 18-year-old experiencing growth problems in his knee cartilage, Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant reports that Brentford may opt against signing him.
Brentford were initially anticipated to engage in further discussions with Club Brugge to negotiate a deal for Nusa in the summer. However, the club are now reconsidering proceeding with the deal on the previously agreed terms.
The Bees are now uncertain about committing €37 million to sign Nusa from Club Brugge in the summer. Newcastle and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the teenager, and it remains to be seen if they will pursue a move for Nusa.
