Brentford have indicated that talks are ongoing over keeping Christian Eriksen at the club.

The Denmark midfielder is out of contract, as he only signed a six-month deal in January.

Eriksen has been outstanding in the league in recent weeks, putting in solid performances and providing plenty of assists for his teammates.

However, he has been linked to bigger clubs, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham interested in his signature.

"It is no secret that we would love Christian to remain at Brentford for more seasons, and we will continue to discuss that possibility with him and his representatives," said Brentford director of football Phil Giles.

Eriksen is only 30, but he may not want to miss out on the chance to secure a contract with a bigger club where he can fight for trophies and play in European competitions.
