Brentford have been handed another long-term injury blow on Tuesday.
Manager Thomas Frank confirmed 21-year-old Kevin Schade will require surgery on an abductor issue he picked up during warm-up before a 3-1 defeat to Everton over the weekend.
“That (Schade injury) is a blow of course. He is a player that we have big expectations for. I think he was starting to show some of his fantastic abilities,” said Frank.
“The latest with the goal against Crystal Palace. That happens. It’s football. This is life. There will be challenges we need to work our way through.”
Expected to be out for “months”, Schade is now the second player to be sidelined for the long-term alongside Rico Henry (ACL).
Additionally, Ben Mee (muscle) and Mikkel Damsgaard (knee) have also sustained injuries.
