Brentford B will face Bournemouth Under-21s on Friday 10 May at the Gtech Community Stadium. The game, which kicks off at 7pm, will be the second Robert Rowan Invitational, raising money for the club's Heart of West London partnership.

The fixture will commemorate the life and legacy of former Brentford technical director Robert Rowan, who sadly passed away in November 2018 due to an undiagnosed heart condition at the age of just 28.

The club will donate all proceeds from the game to fund ground-breaking sports cardiology research at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, as part of its Heart of West London campaign.

General admission tickets for the fixture are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for juniors.

Our ambition is to prevent sudden cardiac deaths through screenings, CPR awareness and funding ground-breaking research, as well as support those affected by cardiac health issues.

Robert played an instrumental role in forming Brentford B in 2016. He helped to drive the project in its infancy and contributed to the recruitment of B-team players.

Players who have graduated the club's B team and gone on to represent the first team include Chris Mepham, Mads Bech, Marcus Forss and most recently Yehor Yarmoliuk.

Yarmoliuk joined Brentford B in the summer of 2022 from Ukrainian side SC Dnipro-1 and in the summer of 2023 earned a promotion to the first team.

Yarmoliuk made his senior debut for the club as a second-half substitute in the EFL Cup third round penalty shootout defeat to Gillingham in November 2022. He has gone on to make 24 Premier League appearances this season.

The game will provide Brentford's young players with a valuable opportunity to play in front of supporters at Gtech Community Stadium.

On the Robert Rowan Invitational, Brentford B head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “Robert's influence on the B team remains profound. Upholding the values he instilled in the project and honouring his legacy with our actions remain important to us all.

“This is a great fixture for us to show fans the hard work and dedication that the boys have put in across the entire season.

"We want to thank Bournemouth for accepting this fixture and we know this will be an exciting and competitive game to take part in and for fans to enjoy.

"This group has done a lot of learning and growing this season and it will be fantastic to cap the day off with a win for such an important cause to me and the club.”
