The 31-year-old’s contract at Nottingham Forest runs until the end of next season but in the short term Taylor will be focused on firing the Blues towards the top half of the Championship.
Taylor, who will know Lee Bowyer well from his Charlton Athletic days, could have a battle on his hands to earn regular first team action with Scott Hogan, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Troy Deeney and Onel Hernandez all battling it out for a starting berth at St Andrew’s.
Brennan Johnson replied: “Good luck bro.”
Xande Silva wrote: “I will miss you my bro.”
Taylor was clearly a valued senior pro at the City Ground, who was able to contribute off the pitch despite a lack of opportunities on it.
There is a chance that he could return and be involved next season if his performances at Birmingham increase his standing in Cooper’s plans for the future.
At 31, it looks like this is the beginning of the end for Taylor’s up and down Forest career.

Yes No
It is interesting to see that three of the younger players in the squad at Forest are the ones to be evidently reacting to his departure.
The journeyman striker has had a very eye-catching rise through the EFL and could have been part of Forest’s push for the Premier League in the second half of the season, however the addition of Keinan Davis has further blocked his pathway to regular minutes.
Birmingham could have not a lot to play for come the business end of the season, which often sees a reduction in playing time for loanees, especially due to his age it would not be a surprise for that to materialise with the Blues, unless there is a chance he signs on a permanent deal in the summer.
