Leeds United appear to be closing in on their first signing of the summer.

Sky Sports report on Thursday that Brenden Aaronson is undergoing a medical with the club ahead of a move from Red Bull Salzburg which is likely to cost in the region of £28m.

A 21-year-old United States international attacking midfielder, Aaronson is expected to sign a five-year contract at Elland Road.

He previously worked with Whites boss Jesse Marsch at Salzburg, for whom he has registered 13 goals and 15 assists in 65 appearances.

Once his move is completed, he will join up with the USMNT for friendlies against Morocco and Uruguay in the warm-up to the start of the CONCACAF Nations League next month.

At international level he has already been capped 18 times at senior level, and he made eight appearances for Salzburg in the Champions League last season.
