Brendan Rodgers , Scottish Premiership Manager of the Year 2025.
Supporters of other sides will most likely scoff at the award but it’s more than deserved. Critics will point to the fact that he has the biggest budget in the league, but what does that matter? He’s done his job splendidly and won his second consecutive title and the club’s fourth in a row. What is and isn’t his budget shouldn’t even come in to the equation.

Critics will also point out that anyone could manage Celtic and win the title, but could they? Could the likes of Derek McInnes, Jimmy Thelin, or David Gray come in and do the same job as Brendan Rodgers and produce the same quality and standards? No would be the correct answer. Brendan is the only elite level manager working in Scottish football.
Managing Celtic isn’t just about getting a side ready for match day, it’s much more than that and the pressure is immense with winning the sole aim expected, nothing else is acceptable. The demands are huge and Brendan deals with that impeccably whilst producing success on a consistent basis.
Most critics would argue that Hibs David Gray is a more worthy choice but the Leith side have the biggest wage bill outside the big two and spent a considerable amount of money to improve their squad so third place is where Hibs should be if that is the thinking.

PFA Scotland gave their manager of the year to John McGlynn who won back-to-back promotions to take Falkirk back into the Scottish Premiership. Maybe they should look at having a Manager of the Year for each division then an overall award? Just a thought.
The hacks will name their manager of the year shortly. Gritted teeth involved no doubt.

Brendan Rodgers is more than worthy of his award and any other that follows and no-one can deny John McGlynn the recognition he also richly deserves.
