Rangers have officially announced the signing of Finnish international winger Oliver Antman from Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles, in a deal believed to be worth an initial ÂŁ3 million.
The 23-year-old becomes the clubâs ninth signing of the summer, as manager Russell Martin continues his rebuild for a demanding Premiership campaign and European fixtures. Antman has signed a long-term contract and is expected to join up with the first-team squad immediately.
Antman arrives in Glasgow off the back of a stellar season in the Netherlands, where he registered six goals and 17 assists in the Eredivisie â the highest assist tally in the league. His standout performances helped Go Ahead Eagles to a surprise KNVB Cup triumph, and earned him a place in the Eredivisie Team of the Season.
Speaking to RangersTV after completing his move, Antman described his excitement at joining the Ibrox club: âRangers is a massive club with big ambitions. The chance to play in front of a packed Ibrox every week, and to compete for trophies and in Europe, was too good to turn down. Iâm proud to be here and canât wait to get started.â
The winger, who has already won 22 caps for Finland, adds much-needed depth and creativity to the Gersâ right-hand side â an area manager Russell Martin identified as a priority following the opening dayâs frustrating draw against Motherwell.
âOliver is a player weâve admired for a long time,â said Martin. âHeâs dynamic, hard-working, and has an incredible eye for a final ball. His numbers last season speak for themselves. We believe he can make a real impact here.â
Known for his speed, flair, and vision, Antman brings versatility to the Rangers attack. While most effective from the right wing, he is comfortable playing across the front three, offering Martin valuable options in rotation.
He is expected to be in contention for next weekendâs league fixture, pending registration and fitness clearance.
