The transfer of Gabriel Brazao from Inter Milan to Santos could fall through due to a bureaucratic problem.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it. The Gazzetta report that a ban on Santos making signings could prevent the transfer from happening.

In the last few days, it has looked as though Brazao would be heading back to his home country of Brazil.

The 23-year-old had spent the first half of the current season on loan at Ternana in Serie B.

However, the Brazilian did not receive much playing time with the club. Therefore, he has decided to look elsewhere for the rest of the season.

And Brazilian giants Santos have been keen on signing Brazao.

Having suffered relegation to the Brazilian second division last season, the iconic club are looking to reinforce in order to try and achieve promotion straight back up.

And Brazao was a player who the Brazilian giants identified as a reinforcement in goal.

Gabriel Brazao Move From Inter To Santos Could Fall Through

The two clubs have been in negotiations regarding the formula of a deal for Brazao.

Whilst the idea of a loan was initially the basis of negotiations, the two clubs have instead come to an agreement on a permanent transfer of Brazao.

The Brazilian would terminate his contract with Inter via mutual consent. Then, he would join Santos on a free transfer.

And the Nerazzurri would then be entitled to a 30% resale percentage on a future transfer of Brazao. This way, they could still cash in in the future.

Brazao has flown to Brazil to complete the transfer to Santos.

However, the 23-year-old has not been able to complete the move.

The reason for this is a bureaucratic issue preventing Santos from making any signings.

Namely, FIFA have barred the Brazilian club from signing players whilst a dispute with a former coach over non-payment is ongoing.

And with the transfer window getting closer and closer to slamming shut, the clock is ticking.
