Augusto had a very memorable first season as an Inter player.

The Nerazzurri signed the Brazilian from Monza last summer.

Inter brought Augusto in mainly as a left-wingback. During his first season in Serie A with the Brianzoli, he had proven his adeptness as an attacking threat on the left flank.

Inter had earmarked Augusto as a replacement for Robin Gosens, and a backup to Federico Dimarco.

But Augusto proved to be more than just that.

The 25-year-old’s versatility made him a key asset for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi. Not unlike Matteo Darmian on the right, Augusto was able to cover both at wingback and in the back three.

Carlos Augusto: “Winning Serie A Title With Inter The Best Day Of My Life”

Augusto helped Inter to the Serie A title in his very first season at the club.

“It was the best day of my life,” the 25-year-old said of clinching the Scudetto.

“It was a big goal that was realized after ten months of hard work and daily training.”

“And then we got to enjoy an incredible celebration,” Augusto looked back.

“I thought since the start of the season that with that group, we could win it,” the Brazilian international said.

Augusto reflected that “Last season I grew a lot.”

“I have to thank the club, the coaching staff, and my teammates,” said the former Monza man.

“Now I want to improve my numbers and help the team even more.”

“We’re Inter and it’s right for us to always aim higher and higher,” Augusto said.

The 25-year-old commented that “This group is extraordinary, there’s a lot of desire to win.”

“We’ve seen how it feels to make the fans smile, and we want to keep doing so,” he said.
