Brazil have named their final 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The South American giants have been placed in Group E alongside, Serbia, Costa Rica and Switzerland, and face Vladimir Petković’s men in their opening game on June 17.
Officially, Brazil don’t have to announce their final squad until June 4, but have decided to name it three weeks early in order to get better preparation ahead of Russia.
Dani Alves is the big absentee from the list, having been ruled out of the tournament last week after picking up a knee injury. Fágner of Corinthians will replace him.
His Paris Saint-Germain club-mate Neymar however, does make the squad, after recovering enough from the foot injury that has kept him out since March.
One man who may count himself slightly unfortunate not to be on the list is Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
It’s a 23 chocked full of quality, with the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino all boarding the plane bound for Russia.
