Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto feels that he has a positive relationship with Federico Dimarco and with all the rest of his Nerazzurri teammates.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League match away to Benfica, as reported by FCInterNews, the 24-year-old Brazilian international also named Angel Di Maria as a danger man for Benfica.

Augusto arrived at Inter over the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian made the move from Monza after impressing in his first season in Serie A.

So far this season, Augusto has been more or less a backup and substitute option.

It has been Federico Dimarco who has held down the first-choice starting position.

But that does not mean that Augusto hasn’t gotten his chances.

The 24-year-old has played an important role from the bench, and has also started a few matches, particularly in Europe.

As far as his relationship with Dimarco, Augusto said that “It’s like with everyone else.”

“There’s no competition between us. I want to be part of the group.”

As far as his call-up for Brazil, Augusto said that “It’s a dream.”

“I’ve always wanted to wear that shirt,” he said of playing for the Selecao.

“I want to keep getting called up. I have a lot of potential and I can keep improving,”

The 24-year-old added that “I hope to contribute as much as I possibly can.”

As far as coming up against Benfica, Augusto said that “We can’t choose our opponents.”

“Benfica are a good side,” he added.

“But we’re preparing well for it. We’re Inter, and we always have to win.”

As far as a potential danger man for Benfica, Augusto said that “Di Maria has a lot of history, he can undeniably make the difference.”

“We have to be well-prepared,” he added. “They’re a side who like to dominate the ball.”

Augusto also noted of Di Maria that “We came up against each other during the break, with Brazil and Argentina.”

“He’s in good form,” the Inter wingback said of former Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid winger Di Maria.
