Former Brazilian striker Ronaldo has revealed that the Selecao have made attempts to hire Pep Guardiola as the manager.
With Tite leaving the post of the Brazil national team manager, the Football Federation of the country is on the hunt for a new manager. While Brazil did well against Croatia in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, they went out of the competition on penalties.
Recently, Ronaldo was speaking on an Esports 3 broadcast (via L’Equipe) and he revealed that the Brazilian Federation had held initial contacts for the Spaniard, who wanted to stay at Manchester City at that point.
“We were interested in him.We discussed with his staff but he preferred to extend with Manchester City. It may be difficult to find an agreement now. He is the highest paid coach in the world.“
Ronaldo also revealed the other names that are in the fray for managing Brazil and those include Jorge Jesus and Jorge Sampaoli.
