Tamo Junto Brasil!
At last, RB Leipzig's post-season tour of Brazil from 23rd to 30th May is about to get underway! The Red Bulls will be the first Bundesliga club in 25 years to visit the five-time World Cup winning nation.
The RBL cohort will spend the first three days in the heart of São Paulo, before carrying out the remainder of the tour in Red Bull Bragantino's training centre in Atibaia.
Read on to find out all that the Red Bulls can expect at their destinations, as well as which highlights await on the agenda.
São Paulo is not only the largest city in Brazil, and South America at that, but with a population of over 21 million, the location poses as one of the true metropolises of the world.
Alongside multiple training sessions, a plethora of activities have also been pencilled in on the schedule. Among other events, our boys can look forward to a visit to the renovated Brazilian football museum, as well as a game of popular beach sport Altinha.
The squad will head off from the lively major city on Monday afternoon in the direction of small town Atibaia, which lies north-east of São Paulo and in the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range. There awaits perfect conditions at the training centre of Red Bull Bragantino, one of the most modern in all of South America.
The Red Bulls will experience the style of the Brazilian top-flight when attending the competitive fixture of Bragantino vs. Juventude. We will also assist a social project in Bragança, witness a class in Capoeira (a Brazilian martial-arts form) and undertake a training session open to the public.
The friendly clash with Santos will mark a highlight of the tour for our boys. The club from the port city in the state of São Paulo is steeped in tradition. Having produced footballing icons such as Pelé and Neymar, it is one of the most well-known clubs in Brazil.
Kick-off at the Cícero de Souza Marques Stadium, the 12,000-capacity temporary home stadium of Red Bull Bragantino, is at 00:00 CEST on Wednesday, 28th June.
The contest serves as a special way for the Red Bulls to end their post-season tour of Brazil, before heading home to Leipzig the next day, on Thursday, 29th June.
