Morocco left the World Cup with their heads held high as France booked their place in back-to-back World Cup finals.
So near and yet so far.
Morocco, who on Wednesday became the first African side to reach the World Cup semi-finals, were so close to shocking France.
But ultimately Les Bleus just had too much quality in the final third.
Just before half-time though, it looked as if the Atlas Lions may have netted a jaw-dropping equaliser.
As a ball looped into the air from a corner, Jawad El Hamiq decided now was the time to try an overhead kick.
The veteran defender caught in cleanly, but the ball came back off the post and France stayed in front.
What a moment that almost was.
Rivals for 90 minutes but friends before and after.
Kylian MbappƩ and Achraf Hakimi are pals at Paris Saint-Germain but played against each other on Wednesday evening.
And embraced after the final whistle in one of the more tender moments of this World Cup.
Sofyan Amrabat has arguably been the discovery of the tournament for a lot of fans.
Serie A-watchers will be aware of the 26-year-oldās seemingly never-ending ability to run and run and run.
As Opta revealed, Amrabat has recovered the ball 51 times in the tournament, more than any other player and more than an African star since records began.
Categorically not funny for the fan that got hit, but Kylian MbappƩ was all apology before the game on Wednesday when his shot hit a supporter in the crowd.
His friends managed to see the humour in it though.
Weāve got two days without World Cup football so why not treat yourself to some Scottish Premiership action.
Rangers return to action this evening for coach Michael Bealeās first game since he took over from Giovani van Bronckhorst.
They host Hibs at Ibrox assuming the British cold snap doesnāt put pay to the fixture.
Thereās also another round of the Womenās Champions League this evening with Arsenal hosting reigning champions Lyon.
The Gunners, who have been sensational in the tournament, so far can secure a place in the knockout rounds with a win.
And to do so they will have to call upon the excellent of Vivianne Midema, who has been on something of a hot streak recently scoring four in the UWCL so far.
