Sheffield United are flying high in the Championship this season as they sit in second place.

It’s difficult to predict how far Sheffield United can push this season considering their injury crisis throughout the campaign so far.

It could get worse, it could get better. Whichever way it falls could have a huge impact on where the Blades finish this season but it does have to be said that the situation has been managed impeccably.

That’s why they’re fighting for automatics right now and could well push Burnley all the way should their injury troubles ease.

It’s a competitive league once again, so ensuring form is consistent is an absolute must for Heckingbottom as they seek a return to the top flight after missing out in the playoffs last season.

The Blades went into the World Cup break having won four of their last six games which is exactly the right momentum they needed after a poor October period.

The break will give players so much needed time to rest and recover, as well as allowing Heckingbottom time to reflect on the season so far.

Whilst we wait and see what the rest of the campaign has in store for Heckingbottom’s side, here, we turn attention away from the league table and take a look at Bramall Lane’s capacity compared with other teams in the Championship…

Bramall Lane versus the rest of the Championship

Sheffield United’s Bramall has the fourth-highest capacity in the division, with the stadium holding up to 32,702 spectators.

This is narrowly lower than Cardiff’s Cardiff City Stadium by 498 seats, and significantly lower than Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in top spot which holds 48,707.

It’s narrowly bigger than Coventry City’s CBS Arena which seats 32,609, giving the Bramall Lane a 93-seat advantage.

Bramall Lane vs League One, League Two and the Premier League

Bramall Lane would once again by the third-largest stadium by capacity in League One, with fierce rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County both possessing grounds that are bigger.

In League Two, Bramall Lane would be the biggest stadium by capacity, with Bradford City’s Valley Parade (25,136) being the only ground that comes close.

Interestingly in the Premier League, Sheffield United’s home has a higher capacity than nine other grounds in the top tier. They possess bigger grounds than the likes of Southampton, Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest and Brighton.
