Milan took on Spezia on Saturday away from home and coach Pioli chose to give rest to his usual starters Rafael Leão and Brahim Díaz, starting Ante Rebić on the wing with Daniel Maldini as a trequartista.

After a first half without any real scoring chances for the Diavolo, Pioli introduced Leão and Pietro Pellegri from the bench. In the 48′ minute, Leão played his part as he sent the ball to Pierre Kalulu who then found Daniel Maldini for a header that made it 1-0 Milan.

Spezia proved a worthy opponent and managed to fight back. Daniele Verde scored the equalizer in the 80′ minute, causing Pioli to bring Brahim on from the bench in the 82′ minute. 4 minutes later, the Spaniard found the back of the net, scoring from an Alexis Saelemaekers assist.

Díaz scored his 4th goal of the season and his second this week after scoring against Venezia.
