Chelsea have been told that Callum Wilson is not for sale and will still be a Bournemouth player next season.

The Blues were heavily linked with a move for the England international in January but eventually opted for Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain hasn’t exactly pulled up trees in west London and reports in the British press earlier this week have linked Wilson once again with a switch to Stamford Bridge.

But Cherries chairman Jeff Mostyn has hit out at those rumours, insisting that the striker will still be at the Vitality Stadium come the start of next term.

“Callum Wilson is a Bournemouth player,” he told Sky Sports.

“We just don’t want anybody to leave the football club. Your prized assets are prized assets for a reason and we want to continue the momentum that we have achieved.

“Four consecutive seasons in the Premier League. We are going to start our next season, which will be our fifth year [and] we want our very best players to be playing for our football club.”

Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League and into the quarter-finals of the Europa League, but could well be faced with a transfer ban after allegedly breaking Fifa rules in regard to the signing of underage players.

Maurizio Sarri’s men should find out this week whether the game’s governing body will charge the club and hand down a potential two-window ban on the registering of new players.
