L’Équipe understands that Bournemouth are set to submit a fresh bid to sign Stade Rennais’ Adrien Truffert (23). Their original €12m bid was rejected by the Breton club.

The Breton club are not opposed to the sale of their captain this summer, however, not at any price. Meanwhile, Bournemouth have turned to Ligue 1 in the search for a new left-back. Their current left-back, Milos Kerkez (21), is expected to join Liverpool during the summer and so the Cherries are anticipating his departure by bringing in a replacement ahead of time. Olympique de Marseille’s Quentin Merlin is also linked with a move to the South of England.

However, Truffert is clearly the priority and despite seeing their first bid rejected, they have not been deterred. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, L’Équipe understands. A fresh bid is expected to be submitted soon. It is thought that the deal could be concluded for a fee between €15-20m.
