AFC Bournemouth appear set to win the race to sign Antoine Semenyo ahead of Crystal Palace with a medical booked for the player today with the Cherries.

Semenyo has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, but it’s only now that it appears he is going to make the switch from Bristol City to the top flight.

Indeed, the Robins’ loss is looking set to be Bournemouth’s gain, with the Cherries moving quickly to get a medical booked in for the player after a fee in principle was agreed between the two clubs.

As per Alex Crook, the forward did have Crystal Palace interested in him as well but Bournemouth appear to have stolen a march on the Eagles in this particular chase, and are now sprinting towards the line in terms of getting things completed.

Crook reports that the attacker is set for a medical as early as this afternoon ahead of a deal worth over £9 million, should everything run smoothly:

The Verdict

It’s going to be exciting watching Semenyo play in the Premier League and he’ll be eager to get going as soon as this deal is fully completed.

Semenyo has been a star in the Championship during his spell in the second tier and deserves a shot in the top flight, with the Cherries looking to achieve survival this season and avoid a drop back into the EFL.

Certainly, Semenyo will be keen to avoid that as well, now he has got his chance in the Premier League lined up.
