Bournemouth have completed the signing of Moroccan winger Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £25.1 million.

The 25-year-old has agreed a five-year contract and becomes the Cherries’ seventh arrival of the summer.

Adli moves to the Premier League after three years in Germany, where he played 143 games for Leverkusen.

He was part of the side that lifted both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal under Xabi Alonso in 2023/24.

Adli usually operates from the left wing but is comfortable as a number ten or on the right flank.

His versatility is expected to give manager Andoni Iraola more attacking options as Bournemouth strive to strengthen their squad depth.

Bournemouth’s spending under owner Bill Foley has now reached almost £350 million since his takeover in early 2023.

The club have also balanced the books by selling Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi for a combined £150m.

That business has allowed them to reshape their squad with players such as Adrien Truffert, Djordje Petrovic and Junior Kroupi also joining this summer.

Bournemouth are exploring a loan move for defender Axel Disasi, although Chelsea favour a permanent sale.

Adli arrives at a time when the left wing is an area of need for Iraola’s side. David Brooks started there against Liverpool on the opening weekend, but he is more naturally suited to the right.

Luis Sinisterra is another option, but is currently sidelined through injury. Adli’s arrival fills a gap and provides competition in a key attacking role.

Speaking to the club website, Bournemouth’s president of football operations Tiago Pinto described Adli as a ‘proven winner’ and praised his Champions League and Europa League experience.

Adli said he was ‘very proud’ to join Bournemouth, highlighting the club’s facilities and ambition as reasons for his decision.
