Bournemouth announce signing of USA starlet Matia Akinmboni

Bournemouth have announced the signing of young talent Matai Akinmboni as their first January arrival.

The Cherries, who are flying high in the Premier League under Andone Iraola, have added the USA teenager to their side after agreeing a deal with DC United for his services.

A left-footed centre-back by trade, Akinmboni has featured for the USA at youth level, though he is unlikely to be ready to slot straight into Iraola's side, and is considered one for the future with another loan move a possibility.

The fee is undisclosed, though DC confirmed that they have a sell-on clause inserted plus potential future add-ons should he prove a success.
