This has since been confirmed by The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, with the 35-year-old set for his first coaching poaching after assistant roles under his father, Carlo Ancelotti, at PSG, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton, Real Madrid and Brazil.

Currently contracted to the Brazil national team, Ancelotti was a target for Rangers and Deportivo, per The Athletic, prior to his appointment at the CBF.

The Italian will replace Renato Paiva, who won the Brazilian Serie A and the Copa Libertadores last season, but after the club’s elimination from the FIFA Club World Cup, was sacked in what was a shock in Brazilian football.

As reported via the BBC, Paiva was sacked for “not allowing owner John Textor to interfere in picking the team.” Textor also owns Premier League side Crystal Palace and French club Lyon, although the latter face relegation to Ligue 2 following a meeting with the DNCG after they failed to convince governing body that their financial situation had improved.
