As reported by NRZ, Borussia Mönchengladbach will look at “internal solutions” when it comes to replacing the injured Tim Kleindienst.

The 29-year-old has recently undergone knee surgery and isn’t expected to return until the end of October or early November.

As pre-season gets underway, Gladbach’s head coach, Gerardo Seoane, has the headache of finding a new number nine to replace the German international for the time being.

Instead of looking at the transfer market, Seoane insists the solution can be found within the club.

“We all know how important Tim is, both athletically and for the team process. Replacing him is probably not possible. But we are working on other options, internal solutions.”

So, who can Gladbach turn to? The most obvious choice is 32-year-old forward Alassane Pléa. Recently, there was interest from Lille, but the player’s early release clause and since expired.

Elsewhere, there’s Shio Fukuda. The 21-year-old is talented but inexperienced in the Bundesliga. He spent last season with Gladbach II in the Regionalliga West, scoring 11 goals.

Additionally, Gladbach will have to do without midfielder Florian Neuhaus. The 28-year-old has been banned from first-team training for four weeks following a video in which he mocked the club’s sporting director.
