Borussia Mönchengladbach are working on a deal to sign Young Boys midfielder Fabian Rieder (21) but face competition from Brentford and Fulham. BILD report that the Swiss international has rejected a move to the Premier League, but a transfer to Gladbach could yet fail.
First, Borussia Mönchengladbach will have to generate transfer income before they submit an offer to Young Boys for Rieder. With a market value of €15m, per Transfermarkt, the Swiss club don’t want to sell their player for much less than that, with a contract until 2025.
BILD suggest that Rieder wants to join Borussia Mönchengladbach over moving to Brentford or Fulham, but if Die Fohlen can’t find an agreement with Young Boys, then a transfer to the Premier League would appear more likely.
They also state that Rieder wants to take the next step in his career this summer and doesn’t want to wait until the final week of August, meaning Borussia Mönchengladbach have a decision to make while negotiating a difficult market.
