Sky Germany reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are set to complete the signing of Hoffenheim’s Haris Tabakovic.

A full agreement is in place between Gladbach and Hoffenheim over a loan for the 31-year-old. Tabakovic will complete his medical at Borussia Park today.

The arrival of the Bosnian will then allow die Fohlen to give the green light for striker Tomas Cvancara to complete his loan move to Turkish side Antalyaspor.

Tabakovic joined Hoffenheim last summer from Hertha Berlin but struggled, scoring four and assisting once in 29 games for die Kraichgauer. However, during his time in the Haupstadt, the 31-year-old ended as the joint top scorer in the 2023/24 season with 22 goals.

Following the sale of Alassane Plea and the pending loan of Cvancara, Tabakovic will be the only fit senior striker at Gladbach as they wait for Tim Kleindienst to recover from his knee injury. Behind him will be Shio Fukuda and Grant Leon-Ranos.

When it comes to the prospects of he move for Tabakovic, it is significantly underwhelming for Gladbach and gives similar vibes to the failed loan of Jordan two seasons ago.
