RP Online (via @bmg_edits) reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are open to collaborating with a Premier League side when it comes to developing players.
This has already been an idea mooted around Borussia Park with an unnamed Premier League side holding discussions with Gladbach over cooperation, but nothing materialised after discussions. It is also not ruled that Gladbach look at working with a team from another of Europe’s top five leagues.
The type of collaboration would make the loaning of the top talents at clubs a lot easier. On the type of collaboration, Sporting Director Roland Virkus said:
“Of course, it has to be a good fit with the cooperation partner; philosophy and style of play have to be compatible.”
Previously, Gladbach have shown to be interested in developing Premier League players, whilst also having a good track record of doing so. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer was of interest to Gladbach when he was at Manchester City but nothing materialised for the forward.
In the past, Die Fohlen have also been a part of the Premier League Cup. Here they previously faced Chelsea who fielded Andreas Christensen. The Dane would then move to Borussia Park and his time in Germany would be key in making him a regular at Chelsea before a move to Barcelona.
