Borussia Dortmund are yet to find a buyer for Manuel Akanji (27) and according to Sport1, the Swiss central-defender has deterred clubs because of his salary demands.

Juventus are one club that has shown an interest but Akanji’s high salary requirements has put interested clubs off. Per the report, the Switzerland international wants around €13m but in the current market, this figure is too high and if Akanji is to leave this summer, he has to lower his salary demands.

With just one-year remaining on his current deal, Akanji is behind Mats Hummels, Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck in Edin Terzić’s plans in central-defence.

Akanji dreams of a move to the Premier League, preferably with Manchester United but with Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelöf, a move is unlikely. One place that the Swiss defender may end up this summer is Inter. Should Milan Škriniar (27) leave the Italian side for PSG, they could pursue Akanji, who would be allowed to leave for a reported €20m.
