Borussia Dortmund are worried about Emre Can and Marius Wolf ahead of their Klassiker against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday evening, according to Ruhr Nachrichten.

Can was substituted against Newcastle United last week and subsequently missed Dortmund’s tip to Eintracht Frankfurt. The BVB captain also missed the midweek DFB Pokal win against Hoffenheim, which came too soon. With joint problems after a blow to his lower thigh, we could again see Salih Özcan partner Marcel Sabitzer in midfield in Can’s absence.

According to Edin Terzic, he hopes that Can will at least make Dortmund’s squad for the game against Bayern, but a decision will be made in the next few days.

Wolf also faces a race to be fit this weekend after he was substituted against Hoffenheim after just over an hour on Wednesday night. The 28-year-old received a knock against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend but trained on Tuesday and played the following night but per the report, Wolf’s knee has had a reaction. That means we could expect to see Julian Ryerson or Niklas Süle at right-back on Saturday.
