Borussia Dortmund support Street Soccer USA once again | OneFootball

Last weekend (6/10-8/10), Borussia Dortmund partnered with Street Soccer USA to create a day of Black & Yellow memories and brought the football feeling to Times Square's Duffy Square in New York City.

Street Soccer USA and BVB have been officially working together since November 2021 to create opportunities for children from underprivileged areas around New York. Street Soccer USA is committed to fighting poverty as well as strengthening and connecting communities through football. The Times Square Cup is one of these activities and was initiated by the non-profit organisation. Last Saturday, 300 children had the unique opportunity to play football in the middle of New York's Times Square for a day. BVB were supporting the event for the second time after 2022.

"The beautiful game of football should be accessible to everyone around the globe and we hope to be able to contribute to this vision through our grassroots and CSR efforts with Street Soccer USA," said Benedikt Scholz, the Director of Internationalisation and Commercial Partnerships at BVB.

An additional donation from Borussia Dortmund was presented to the organisation during the children's award ceremony and was made in cooperation with MatchWornShirt. During the USA Tour this summer, a number of shirts worn by Borussia Dortmund players from all three friendly fixtures in San Diego, Las Vegas and Chicago were auctioned off for this good cause. The majority of the proceeds, the total value of which was €12,936, went to Street Soccer USA. Roman Weidenfeller and BVB mascot EMMA presented the donation personally in Times Square.
