Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell Donyell Malen in the January transfer window as they look to generate funds for new signings.
The future of Donyell Malen has been the subject of plenty of speculation over the last 12 months. The Dutchman is said to be looking to leave Borussia Dortmund. And according to BILD, those in charge at the club are also keen to sell him when the transfer window opens in January.
The tabloid claims that Borussia Dortmund would like to generate a transfer fee of around 25-30 million euros from his sale, which could be used to further bolster the squad either in January or next summer.
Malen has found himself in and out of the Borussia Dortmund starting XI this season, and his performances have been a bit of a mixed bag. The 25 year old does have two goals and one assist to his name in three appearances in the UEFA Champions League. Two of those goal contributions came against Real Madrid.
It has been reported that Malen would like to make the switch to the English Premier League, and he has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool in the past.
Borussia Dortmund will hope that a solution regarding Donyell Malen's future can be found soon, with there being just over 18 months left on his current contract.
The January transfer window and next summer will offer the Black and Yellows their final two opportunities to generate some funds from the sale of Malen. Whether there will be any serious interest for his signature still remains to be seen.
