Borussia Dortmund have declared Wolves forward Fabio Silva (23) as their No. 1 transfer target. As reported by Bild, club officials: Lars Ricken, Sebastian Kehl and Niko Kovac agreed during their training camp in Saalfelden, Austria, that they would make the Portuguese forward their top priority.
However, the German outlet note that they face stiff competition to sign the 23-year-old. Villarreal, Real Sociedad, RB Leipzig, VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt and AS Roma are among the clubs pursuing Silva, but Borussia Dortmund are in pole position.
Die Schwarzgelben have already presented Silva with a five-year contract until 2030 as they search the market for competition, and eventually a replacement, for Serhou Guirassy. A meeting between Dortmund and the player’s representatives is expected to take place this week.
Silva has already been subject to interest from the Bundesliga after rejecting a move to Wolfsburg, as he wants to play in a European competition after spending last season on loan at Las Palmas, where he scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 24 La Liga games.
With seemingly no future at Wolves, the Portuguese attacker is expected to leave Wolves this summer following spells in the Netherlands, Belgium, Scotland, and, most recently, Spain.
