Sent off: Sabitzer

The visitors broke the deadlock early in the first half courtesy of Donyell Malen firing an acrobatic volley through Michael Zetterer’s legs.

Jadon Sancho doubled the advantage for Edin Terzić’s side shortly before the interval with a superb individual effort and slotted finish.

But the Black and Yellow were reduced to 10 men before the interval as Marcel Sabitzer was sent off for a lunge on Mitchell Weiser.

Bremen reduced their deficit in the final 20 minutes as Justin Njinmah rolled the ball past Gregor Kobel from Romano Schmid’s cutback.

Dortmund move back up to fourth in the Bundesliga, a point ahead of fifth-placed RB Leipzig.
