Sky Germany reports that several of Borussia Dortmund’s defenders are injury doubts for their game against Bayer Leverkusen later today.

Joining Niklas Süle and Pascal Groß, who is suspended, on the sidelines are Ramy Bensebaini and Waldemar Anton who miss out through illness. Emre Can and Nico Schlotterbeck are also doubts for the game as they did not travel with the team to their hotel.

This means that apart from Julian Ryerson and Yan Couto, Dortmund have no fit senior defenders heading into the game against second in the league. Felix Nmecha may have to be played as a make-shift centre back this evening. Dortmund under-23 centre-back Yannik Lüthrs could also feature.

This was Dortmund’s squad that travelled to their hotel (Ruhr Nachrichten via @bvbnewsblog):

Kobel, Lotka – Lührs, Couto, Ryerson, Kabar, Lelle, Sabitzer, Nmecha, Azhil, Wätjen, Brandt, Reyna, Gittens, Malen, Adeyemi, Duranville, Campbell, Guirassy, Beier, Paulina

To make matters worse, Dortmund have not played a warm-up friendly ahead of their return from the winter break. Compared to Leverkusen who beat Rot-Weiß Oberhausen 2-0.
