Borussia Dortmund boosted their Champions League qualification prospects with a comfortable win over Freiburg.

Donyell Malen opened the scoring when Niclas Füllkrug picked him out for a rifled shot into the top lefthand corner of Noah Atubolu's net.

But the game was delayed by around 10 minutes as home fans continued protests against the Bundesliga's proposed new commercial deal.

When play resumed, the Netherlands international doubled his tally deep into first-half added time by sweeping home after being teed up by Füllkrug again.

The Dortmund striker added a goal in his own right on a birthday appearance, meeting Ian Maatsen's deep delivery with a header just three minutes from time.

Edin Terzić's side now sit four points clear of RB Leipzig, who travel to Augsburg on Saturday, in the Bundesliga's race for a top-four spot.
