Borussia Dortmund complete signing of Union Berlin defender

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Norwegian defender Julian Ryerson.

The 25-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund moved for the right-back, who can also play left-back, after Thomas Meunier was confirmed to be out with a calf injury.

Ryerson’s €5m release clause was triggered bringing to an end his four-and-a-half year stay in the German capital.

“I’ve had an incredible four and a half years in which I’ve also been able to develop personaly,” he told the Union website on his departure.

I’ll never forget promotion and qualifying for the Conference and Europa League, and of course I’ll always remember my goal against Haifa.”
